About Gord
Welcome!
I’m Gord Grant (Ph.D., R.Ac.), and my work is about helping people restore strength, balance, and well-being.
With a background in science, beekeeping, and acupuncture, I’ve learned that real progress comes from listening not only to your symptoms, but also to your story and your unique nature — the details and priorities that guide you, known only to you — and building the right support to address both immediate concerns and underlying issues.
A calling shaped by science and nature
In my 20s I researched bee diseases; in my 30s I built and ran a large scale commercial bee farm; in my 40s I returned to research with a food focus. Since my 50s, and now into my 60s, I’ve practiced acupuncture while still keeping honey bees. Recently I have been fostering habitat for Alberta’s indigenous solitary bees.
My family and community remain central to who I am, but work has always been its own calling. I don’t see myself retiring — this work keeps me curious, engaged and fulfilled. Each step has taught me something about resilience, renewal, and how our choices shape our “healthspan” —the vitality to engage in life and keep doing the things that matter most to each of us over the years.
What patients can expect
When you come in, you’ll be treated as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Each session is tailored to your situation, with attention to comfort, clear communication, and changes you can notice in daily life. The clinic itself is part of your care — a space filled with art, plants, music, water features, and even a small library. Many people come early or stay afterward simply to enjoy the calm or engage yourself with books and art.
My approach
I combine proven methods — acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and a gentle style of dry needling — with the expertise I’ve gained from both science and experience. My goal is not just short-term relief, but to help you build lasting progress in your health and well-being.
Why I do this work
I’ve seen in myself, in my bees, and in my patients that health and life are never static. It’s a process of adapting and renewing — sometimes in small steps, sometimes in bigger turns. For some, it’s simply about easing pain or improving function in daily life. For others, it’s part of a larger shift toward long-term health. My motivation is to meet people where they are and help them find a way forward that makes sense in their lives.
